Over the last several months, Dr. Alessi has received training as an end-of-life doula. An end-of-life doula is someone who is trained to assist people in approaching the end of their lives from a number of different perspectives. Being a doula-informed psychiatrist, one of the areas he can assist in is addressing the anxiety and fear that people often experience when entering the end of their lives. One such medication that has been suggested as an end-of-life existential dread therapy is Ketamine. Therefore, one of the services that is being offered through the Center is Ketamine administered subcutaneously for people who are experiencing this phenomena.
